Explore Margaret Island

Margaret Island, located in the middle of the Danube River, offers you an escape from the city's noise and bustle. It's a perfect spot because entry is free, and there are plenty of affordable activities to enjoy, such as renting a bike, visiting the musical fountain, or hiking through the beautiful gardens.
In addition to the walkways, there are plenty of other things to see on this island. You can navigate around parkland and greenery. You can also see an art nouveau water tower, the ruins of a 13th-century Dominican convent, and a small zoo. Other attractions include jogging tracks, thermal spas and swimming pools. Summertime brings pop-up bars and restaurants, as well as live music
2. Discover Budapest's Ruin Bars

Budapest is famous for its unique ruin bars. These are bars set up in abandoned buildings and courtyards, with graffiti & plants that attract visitors from all over the world. These bars offer a quirky atmosphere and affordable drinks, making them a must-visit for anyone on a budget. Szimpla Kert is the most well-known ruin bar, but there are many others to explore throughout the city.
Entry is free for most of these bars, though some might charge you a cover fee, so be prepared to spend a minimum of 500-2000 HFs - about 1-5 euros or $2-7 CAD / $1-5.50 USD.
3. Visit the Great Market Hall

The Great Market Hall, or Nagyvásárcsarnok, is a vibrant and bustling market where you can experience local culture and cuisine without spending much. It's a great place to sample traditional Hungarian foods, buy fresh produce, and pick up affordable souvenirs. The market also offers a glimpse into daily life in Budapest, making it a rich cultural experience.
As with all markets, it’s absolutely free to visit, so you don’t have to spend any money to have fun while you’re there - as it’s just beautiful to walk around and experience it.
If you’re hungry, it’s also a great place to get affordable and delicious meals for cheap.
